Vernon's cups and balls "fake explanation" theory.

I think that Vernon included a fake explanation in his cups and balls routine for a reason. That reason, in my experience-based opinion, is the following:
Spectators can take so much ´fooling´. They just won´t stand being fooled for too long without a theory to what's going on. They NEED a possible solution so they won´t go 'crazy' in their minds. Vernon's fake explanation is a relief for them. They feel relieved and so they relax. This relaxation is nothing more than making more 'room' for fooling. That last amazement is going to be provided by the final loads.
The fake explanation 'empties the amazement cup' before it is filled to the brim again by the fruits appearing under the cups. When they see the explanation, they either confirm their sleight of hand suspicions or learn something new. Whichever the case, they now feel at peace, they´ve learned the secret. But they don't know there is a BIGGER secret waiting to be unveiled...
This is my little theory that will change nobody´s life.
Maybe mine.
