My second and last gig was superb! I just loved it. And they did too!
It was birthday party in a house inside a private neighborhood / country club / whatever you call it. Friends and family, grown ups and kids together about 40 peoples there.
This is my ideal type of gig for the moment being. All of them in a nice not too big crowd paying atenttion like civilized human beings :)
Everything went swimmingly and i was 'on'. On a roll you would say.
I have come to the conclusion that a Magician acts the part of a Maestro if you know what i mean. A conductor. You know like Seinfeld's episode 'The Maestro' ? (The who?? heh).
You're there wand in hand, conducting the show. The simphony of tricks and entertainment. Your instruments are the persons in the audience. You know how and when to make them sound. If one starts playing too early or too late, you know how to handle that. You conduct ENERGY. You're the master hub there. All energy goes thru you before and then to the nodes connected to you. Connection. You're the hub, they are the dumb terminals...hehe. Guess what happens if there is no connection...
What if things don't go the way you planned it? What if they start cracking jokes about what's going on? I'm not talking about hecklers. I'm talking about common social behaviour. After all it's THEIR party and you're the guest. You're the stranger. Albeit a rather special one. You WANT your instruments to sound. You don't want them quiet. But you know when and how to make them sound...
Good shit man. I loved that gig and they did too. Went home soo happyy :)
